Enable Multifactor Authentication on Office 365

Modified on Thu, 1 Dec, 2022 at 12:09 PM

Open an internet browser and go to https://office.com and click Sign In

Sign in using your school or SECAT email address and password and click Next

You will be prompted with More information required. Click Next

Make sure the first drop-down menu is Authentication phone and enter your mobile number, click Next.

You should receive a text message with the authentication code.

Enter the code into the web browser and click Verify

Make a note of the following app password. You may need this for some apps if you use Apple Mail etc. Click Done

The setup is now complete. Next time you log onto Office 365, you will be sent a text containing the authentication code. Enter the code onto the screen and it will log you in.

FYI - If you are connected to a Schools or SECAT House wifi and have a SECAT email address, Office 365 will bypass the MFA automatically let you login.
